Trashbash - Klingon Disruptor WIP

Cephas

Lieutenant

Greetings All!

I'm scratch building a Klingon disruptor and decided to try my hand at wood carving. I cut the grip out of a scrap piece of 2x6 and then shaped it down to what you see below. I intend to use a 1/2" copper tube for the barrel and various greebles rescued from the trash. This will be an original design inspired by other Klingon weapons.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

Neat idea, I often thought I'd waste a lot of wood and materials trying to be just 1/8th as crafty as many model makers and fabrication hobbyists I've seen post there work here.

Maybe I'm over thinking it?

Sounds like a good idea- try long strand fibreglass auto filler too... It carves great before it hardens fully.

It's starting to come together. I'm still working out how to adorn the sides. In the 2nd pic, I've laid the center spike from the Klingon symbol on the side. I'm not sure if I want to go with that or another shape.
