Transwarp drive: Vengeance = Excelsior

Carol Marcus said advanced warp capabilities. Also when Khan was telling Kirk about the Vengeance he said that it has 3x the speed of the Enterprise. Given that the Enterprise of this universe has a maximum speed of warp 8. The only thing i can think of is the Vengeance has a transwarp drive.

I don't remember that they ever "caught up" to Nero. He was at his destination every time they chased him (i.e. he got there well before the Enterprise).

I don't know. One thing in the 2009 movie that bugged me was how slow Nero was getting on with his plan.

Well, I'll check the scene again when next I see the movie (off work next week so I'll have a chance then).

Cously, though, I had a lot of trouble figuring out what she was saying because "Mark four capabilities" didn't make any sense either time I saw the movie. That is, however, exactly what she says in the novelization. "Mark four capabilities." Maybe they changed it in the shooting script at the last minute, but I am 99% confident that's the line in the movie too.

That could be it. I hear an "m" sound in there somewhere. Each time I've seen the film, I thought she said "multiple warp capability".
