Transporter Malfunction - and the crew ends up Guest-Starring on ____?

Captain Tracy

Commander
Red Shirt
The latest Caption Contest uses a picture of Nimoy while guest-starring on another TV show,.... and this got me thinking,...

What if the transporter malfunctioned, and deposited KIRK and crew,... not on an alternate reality planet,... but on the set of an entirely different TV show,...

Any ideas on where you might like to see KIRK and crew beamed to, and have to deal with the characters and situations of some other TV show?

I for one, would love to see an exchange between MR. SPOCK and Archie Bunker,... while Edith 'moons' over KIRK LOL!

It just has to be The X-Files.

Mulder and Scully investigate a report of a group of people "sparkling" into existance in the middle of a city street, dressed in bright shirts, flared trousers and miniskirts.

Dana: "Miniskirts Mulder, really?"

:)

The Twilight Zone, specifically, the episode where the kid has godlike powers and everyone is living in fear of him. That seems like a Trek premise.

The TZ episode you mention is: 'It's a Good Life'.

Familiar dynamics of this episode very much parallel 'Charlie X', 'And The Children Shall Lead', and 'Where No Man Has Gone Before'.

Nah, that would never work.

TOS and M*A*S*H. Those shows would mesh beautifully, since they both talk about the futility of war and how humans have to work to rise above such things.

Not the TV cast, but...

Quantum Leap.

Sam and Al meet distant (er, more distant) future folk. Al hits on Uhura. Sam does the right thing and puts back everything that went wrong with the JJ Abrams reboot. They leap out but now, every time the Enterprise goes to warp, Scotty has to bang the side of the reactor and it squeals in protest.

Movie-era Chekov accidentally ends up on Babylon 5, and everybody goes nuts trying to figure out why Bester is suddenly speaking in a weird Russian accent!

Re: Transporter Malfunction - and the crew ends up Guest-Starring on _

It just has to be the Bat Cave in the 1966-69 BATMAN series. Either that or one of the Diabolical Criminal Masterminds found some way to lure Kirk and party to a secret hideout, and it's up to Batman, Robin, Batgirl and Commissioner Gordon to find the missing party!

BATMAN is the perfect match, since it is from the same era, photography is therefore a perfect match, and even the music overlaps a little.

A close second would be...

Wait

for

it...

LOST IN SPACE!

Wild Wild West.

Kirk vs West. Which Jim for the win?

I love it. Only Lyta could figure it out.

Our intrepid crew find a "Copy" of Earth's Moon circa 1999 flying around the galaxy..when they are attacked by primitive spacecraft which are easily disabled.. upon beaming down to investigate, they are confronted by the inhabitants of "Moonbase Alpha"...

And much hilarity ensues..

Re: Transporter Malfunction - and the crew ends up Guest-Starring on _

How about "I Deam of Jeanie". Can you imagine what Dr. Bellows would say? Major Nelson would probably get into a fight with Kirk over Jeanie. She certainly would be worth fighting for. Roger would be trying to get Uhura's phone number.

Re: Transporter Malfunction - and the crew ends up Guest-Starring on _

^ I like the idea of I Dream of Jeannie.

My idea is Mission: Impossible. It would have been very feasible actually to film it, given that the production companies were the same. Think of it as Assignment: Impossible.

The materialize on Next Generation, of course!

But I love the X-Files idea. And I'd love even more to see Spock mindmeld with Gilligan on the island, while the Skipper sucks up to Kirk as a fellow captain. (Meanwhile, Kirk tries to choose between Ginger and Mary Ann.)

Re: Transporter Malfunction - and the crew ends up Guest-Starring on _

Stargate SG-1. They open a wormhole that mysteriously intersects with a transporter beam... kind of like "Mirror, Mirror"/"Assignment: Earth" mixed together. Kirk and landing party end up at SG-1, and the SG-1 team ends up on the Enterprise. Daniel Jackson has to work with Spock to try figuring out what happened and how to repeat it. Meanwhile, Kirk manages to convince General Hammond to let him take his Corvette for a spin, winds up cruising for chicks in the nearby town. ;)

Here's an idea:

Starfleet sent the Enterprise back in time to investigate Earth in 1968, so why not send the Enterprise back with the cloaking device from "The Enterprise Incident" to 2168 to monitor part of the Romulan War, including Captain Archer and the NX-01 Enterprise?
