Transformers: Prime - Season 1

Definitely enjoying Optimus's film-inspired speeches. Fuck yes. Then again, Peter Cullen could read the back of a can of soup and it would sound epic...

Also, Bulkhead still has his wrecking ball hand. Awesome.

All in all, "Darkness Rising" started weak but finished strong. I'll be very interested when the series returns in February.

I did wonder at two things : Prime positing that 'Not even Megatron could survive...' when he should really know better, and, no scene with floating banged-up Megatron suddenly opening his eyes or like that.

^ Not only should Optimus Prime know better -- he's already commented on Megatron's longevity a couple of times before in this series -- he should also factor in the resurrection power of Dark Energon. Megs will be back fo sho.

At any rate, I really liked the miniseries. Part 4 was the strongest of the episodes, but overall it nicely set up the new show and I'm looking forward to February.

I think this CGI series is off to a good start. Some have said the animation isn't state-of-the-art, but I'm not so picky on this even in the theatre.

My beef's with Screamer's voice.

I think I like the alteration Welker made to Megatron's voice. There's more of range to the voice now.

The first time we see hear him is odd. His pitch in all the other scenes is lower, on the level of Hugo Weaving.

It sounds like the Galvatron voice Welker did for the very first Galvatron toy commercial -- different from the high-piched Galvatron voice he did for the series afterward.

It looks like the Transformers Animated not-so-anatomically-correct animation from the screen grabs, or that cartoon Batman that I keep seeing on tv which just looks off somehow.

I'll stick to the one and only G1 series from the 80s. At least I know the cinematic release linked to that series didn't have lines of dialogue involving the word 'masturbation'.

If the Batman your referring to is voiced by Diedrich Bader, then god have mercy on your soul.
