Syfy has released the trailers for Syfy's Dark Matter and the The Killjoys.
Dark Matter said:
n Dark Matter, the crew of a derelict spaceship is awakened from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets. The cast includes Zoie Palmer (Lost Girl), Roger Cross (The Strain), Marc Bendavid (Bitten), Anthony Lemke (White House Down), Melissa O'Neil (Les Miserables), Joelle Ferland (Twilight) and Alex Mallari, Jr (Robocop).
Dark Matter is based on the graphic novel Dark Matter by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie (of the Stargate franchise).

Killjoys said:
From the producers of Orphan Black (Temple Street Productions) and the creator of Lost Girl (Michelle Lovretta), Killjoys follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multiplanetary class war.
Hannah John-Kamen stars as the gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Dutch. A top-level Killjoy, she’s a much loved and charming presence in her community, with a unique gift for earning people’s trust and respect regardless of their class. Under her banter and protective flirtations, there is a dark secret past.
Aaron Ashmore takes on the role of John Jaqobis, a peacemaker who hates conflict. Cheerful and kind-hearted, John prefers not to fight, but his sarcastic wit has put him into the fray enough over the years to teach him how to do it well, and dirty.
Luke Macfarlane stars as D’avin, a handsome, rugged, sarcastic, and incredibly loyal former soldier. He dreamed of enlisting in the military since boyhood, and his hard-won expertise in tactics, maneuvers and hand-to-hand combat make him an instant asset to the Killjoy team.

A new show from Malozzi and Mullie sounds interesting, even if the idea sounds a bit like Stargate Universe redux. And Roger Cross and Zoie Palmer will be good to see, especially with Continuum and Lost Girl respectively coming to an end soon.

Killjoys looks like just another gritty-future antihero-driven show, nothing particularly interesting. But the talent behind it makes me want to give it a look. At least Syfy is finally getting back into doing space shows. (By the way, are these Canadian imports like the aforementioned shows? The casts and creators suggest as much.)

Dark Matters sounds too close to Deepwater Black, aka Mission Genesis here in the US, than SGU. I guess there will be a good reason for this show to have a dimly lit spaceship interiors-"hey fans, don't complain, we put dark in title! You were warned ahead of time!"

The Wiki for DM, has the production company as Prodigy Pictures (headed by former Firestone Prods' Jay Firestone, co producer of most of the old Tribune action hours), with NBC/Universal as distributor, and no Canadian network, so that indicates it's not strictly an import but sort of along the lines of the Stargates. (A Canadian network originating it would classify it as an import, wouldn't it?)

I'm looking forward to Dark Matter. I was a fan of teh general format of Stargate under Mallozi and Mullie and co., I think this could be some fun hard SF. Killjoys, meh so far... It's Firefly without the cast of Firefly?

As far as I know regular series. I'm pretty sure the only miniseries for this year are Ascension and Childhood's End.
