Trailer score...

So, I stumbled upon a page talking about the score piece used under the trailer...

Turns out it was inspired by a cue from Brian Tyler's Children of Dune score which they had been using parts to temp track the movie... They liked it and had this group "Two Steps from Hell" extend/expand the short 1 min cue into the piece heard in the trailer...

Not quite. "Freedom Fighters" is the name of the track used in the most recent theatrical trailer; the one from the first trailer was called"Down With The Enterprise" and was, indeed, a remix of one of Tyler's cues. The company that provided both of them is called "Two Steps From Hell."

BTW, Paramount has expressed interest in licensing "Freedom Fighters" exclusively for Trek XI so that nobody else can use it.

The song inspired from Dune is not Freedom Fighters but it's "Down With the Enterprise"

Freedom Fighters is the song from the latest trailer and is also by Two Steps from Hell.

Upon further study, I would say that the First trailer, or second as it's labeled at the official site as they seem to think the teaser was the first trailer, but anyway...


The first trailer score sounds much more like Tyler's cue from CoD, which if you have that one is track 9 titled War Begins, with is extended... The score on the latest trailer is the piece freedom fighters, which is still based on that first cue but heavily expanded upon and fleshed out.
