Trailer Music - Any Ideas on Where it's From?

So, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on where the trailer music is from from Trailer 3. Is it an original composition? Is it from another film?

I have a tough time believing it's from another film, or else someone would have known it by now. Likewise, it doesn't quite sound like Gianchino's work (sp on his name?) - sounds a bit more Dark Knight-ish, like someone else said.

The only other theory I have is that it's a new piece from Immediate Music, the company that's become so well known for doing trailer music. Wiki them if you don't know who they are.

Any ideas, theories?

It's "Freedom Fighters" by the trailer music company "Two Steps From Hell." Google the track and company names and you'll find lots of info on it.

As I posted in another thread here:

In fact, Two Steps From Hell released a statement about the track here.

There has been a lot of interest in the Freedom Fighters music in the new Star Trek trailer (thanks!) so here’s some more information for you. The executives at Paramount studios ultimately had the final say in what music was used for the trailer. They ended up liking the music so much they wanted exclusive rights to use it (to avoid us from licensing it to other advertisement campaigns). This does however not mean that the music cannot be published on CD, and we’ll likely include the modified version on one of our future public releases.

ZOMG! I just got a hold of an MP3 of it, the source song. It's so totally awesome! Also got a hold of the source song from the bulk of the 2nd Trailer -- which is, perhaps ironically named, "Down with the Enterprise" LOL!

Do you think that's down as in 'down wit ma homies' or down as in 'shoot em down'?

LOL, no idea.

It's what the track is officially titled, though, heh.

[deleted] Not my department, lol.

Yeah I found the source song as well and have to keep myself from playing too much all over again

Don't I know it! I've had it playing continuously for a few hours now!

It's sort of like "Wherever you will go" from Enterprise. A song used in one of the early promos that became a sort of de facto theme for the show, because we had nothing else, lol.

"Freedom Fighters (Choir)"

*Hint, hint, [none of that kind of hinting]*

You know i was going to ask Mike and Adam about that sooner or later, need to be carefull though. One thing we do at galactica.com witht eh soundtrack musis is to make small clips of each track.

Thanks, I just downloaded them. Very good stuff. :techman:

Just out of curiosity, is it really legal to post these pieces on your website?

No. Two Steps From Hell licenses their music, but they don't sell it, and I can't imagine they'd want it up somewhere for anybody to download and use, either.

What is the music when you go to startrekmovie.com?? Is that from the score?
