Heh - maybe it takes place on Ceti Alpha 6. This would explain Chekov's confusion in TWOK, since he knew that 6 was a desert world.

Nicholas Meyer directed that movie. He's a producer and writer on this show. That proves my theory.

I am hoping we see a trailer today. They did release their first picture today. So I am going to assume we will see a trailer. It would be crazy for CBS not to promote Discovery at their Upfront. CBS plans to air the pilot this fall so they are going to want to leverage any oportunity to promote CBS and CBS All Access.
