According to this article, CBS release their fall schedule on 17 May so will confirm DSC's release date and a trailer could follow shortly afterwards: https://www.inverse.com/article/31406-star-trek-discovery-trailer-news-cbs-fall-upfronts
Allegedly only 3 episodes are done so far, and that probably doesn't include FX, so probably not.
I just meant regarding a trailerAll to be expected, and in no way an impediment to announcing a premiere date and beginning promotion.
The article is barely more than speculation. CBS's presentation of the schedule is for the broadcast network, not sure how that relates to CBSAA original series. All 2 of them.
I just meant regarding a trailer
More to that point, I heard an interview with Kevin Feige from the MCU who said they figure out what they want the trailer to be, figure out when they want to release it, and then have the post production houses prioritize those shots so they can have the trailer ready to go. I can't imagine this kind of TV would work that much differently.Exactly. Also, to point out that which should be obvious, optical effects and CGI comes in throughout the post-production process - it's not all dropped off in a bundle the week before a show premieres. So at this point it's extremely likely that there are enough final or late-stage effects on hand to put together a very effective trailer.
