Toys out early!

I'm surprised that with Keenser (or whatever Scotty's sidekick was named) being so kid-friendly, there isn't a figure of him in the lineup.

I hope that Playmates make the USS Kelvin...

:bolian: That would be great to have - especially to go up against the Narada.
It's an awesome design, and would make a great transition ship alongside the NX-01 and the NuPrise, both of which have been made into electronic starships, with light and sound (AA/DST, Playmates, respectively).

Considering how wonderful a ship it is, and how significant it is to James Kirk, I would be surprised if Playmates didn't make her...

:luvlove: She would be a fantastic addition to the Narada and NuPrise, and Jellyfish!

I bet if Keenser doesn't make it into a TBD slot in Wave 2 he'll be in Wave 3. I want more of the cool background aliens too!

i saw the full line of toys and props at toy's r us too. almost bought the ship then i remembered i don't have a lot of room lol. i am saving space for the huge enterprise-d coming in june

Don't forget that Playmates also said they were planning to redo the Kirk sculpt, and put Kirk in his black utility outfit, and Scotty in his snow gear in the playsets as a running change.

Ya, it looks REAL nice!

I'm going to finaly get one from wal-mart tommorow when I go in to town, it's just a fracken COOL ship! I am hopeing that AA will be allowed to make there version, maybe even letting Round2 finaly release a model kit! By the by do we know why BanDai Japan has not made there version of this ship yet?

anybody see these figures made by barbie? reading old news from December, they were supposed to come out the end of April for around $42 or so. i'm not a toy collector but i think these are neat.

I collect Barbie's, and I got these dolls in early April. I used my Barbie Fan Club discount and pay $30 a piece for each.

Is there any chance that Art Asylum will make the new Enterprise?

Not anytime soon. They do not have the rights to produce any toys from the movie. Playmates has that at least for the next year or so and assuming they want to keep the rights for any potential sequels, I doubt they'll give them up.

Plus there's the fact that Playmates can meet deadlines and release toys on schedule, which DST has never been able to do (not that I don't own and love all that they've produced). It's just that when a studio wants toys to come out to coincide with a release date, they're better sticking with a mass market manufacturer.

Outside of fan circles, I wonder how well these are selling. I go to my local Wal-Mart and the shelves are constantly filled with little selling (and it doesn't help that it's confined to two vertical racks, as opposed to other toy lines that have nearly a third of an isle).

I keep getting flashes of the Indy 4 toyline from last year. That bombed so bad that they hardly bothered with later waves except for low numbers sold on high-priced online stores.

It's hard to say. My Wal-Mart started off with a huge amount and then it got cut down by half. All the Enterprises were gone. TRU has sold some but not a huge amount. Target is pretty much barren and sold out. It seems to really vary here. I don't know that anecdotal evidence tells you much. Plus, it's kind of an off season to sell toys and a crappy economy. I wonder what Playmates expectations were? I think Christmas time will tell more of the story as to whether parents and kids are getting into the line.

My Wal Mart has absolutely 0 Trek toys. I figured it was a non-compete agreement with Lucasfilm or something.

It depends on where you are, IMO. I shop in several stores--a couple of Targets, a few Wal-Marts, and a TRU--in some places, they're kind of doing "meh," while in others, the racks are getting sparse with less than a half-dozen figures and perhaps a few phasers left on the pegs...

I did see Cartoon Network run an actual "ole' school Saturday morning-type" commercial for the 3.75-inch figures and the Enterprise for the first time today, though...

I am getting the enterprise soon, its on toys 'r' us For £29.99. I would love a kelvin, but it would have to be in scale. Or they should make the Narada say 30/40cm long, with a scaled enterprise and kelvin included.

Titanium die cast made ships from star wars, bsg and some others, so maybe they will make some ships?

Target doesn't have it listed on their website (only that it is "on sale"), so does anyone know how much the phaser is going for at Target?

I believe the Phaser retails for $14.99 and Target didn't have it listed on sale.

I'll let you guys know asap.
