Toyfair 2018 Discovery Products

Correct, and in almost total darkness. Nobody knows what it entirely looks like except those who built the mesh.

Both the Gentle Giant and Eaglemoss models of the Discovery have a gold/bronze colouring to them, funny that that doesn't come across at all in the show. Looks more like a dark metallic grey on screen.

The Star Trek Online model is also Bronze/Grey

There are some shots in the show that show it.

I would say that's probably because the lighting they're using in the rendering process is extremely dark and relying on self-illuminated models than of ambient environmental light. Getting a fix on the actual palette being used is nigh on impossible on-screen. While that may be more accurate, in a perverse way (space is dark), it's (IMO) not as cinematic - see the frequent discussions out there on what the new "D-7" looks like. If it's hard to see, it makes it very difficult to ascertain an outline and structure.
