Touch or hunt and peck

Touch or peck?

I only think about the letters when I run into a word I don't know how to spell.

Okay...so then do you think it would be fair to say that you don't do 'hunt & peck'...but really more a 'touch typing peck' kind of thing? Because it seem like 'hunting' implies looking for the letters.

I would say that's fair. I never learned the proper way to type, so my fingers go all over the place, but I very rarely need to look at the keyboard. I simply type so often that I've developed my own style of "touch typing." I do occasionally get tripped up, though, and need to look to figure out what I'm doing.

I'm getting that way myself, for brief bursts I can type without looking at the keys.

With going into a computer science career, I might need to work on that and/or get faster.

You'll just get faster without really trying. That's what happened to me and I don't have to look anymore.

^Ditto to everything you said. Except I send probably a couple texts per month. I have a couple friends who text me occasionally, and I feel rude not answering and/or asking them not to text me. At about $.30 per text, it's still cheaper than the $5 per month for however many texts that buys.

Back in High School I could type 120 wpm, today I mostly hunt and peck. I know where most of the keys are but with drinking I do a lot of spell check! Oh and I'm a horrible speller!

in high school we had these gross orange keyboard covers that we had to use in computer class

the worst is when I accidentally sguft tge gine riw ibe wat ir abitger (shift the home row one way or another)
