Total Recall remake. Colin Farrell Is Frontrunner

Are we gonna let the fact that Len Wiseman is attached to direct go? Really? We're letting that slide?

As terrible as this idea sounds, all three actors listed as possible choices are great (Farrell, Hardy, Fassbender). Still, the choice of director is terrible, and I'm sure nothing of the PK Dick original will be intact by the end (though the original was the same way, and it's fun in its own way).

Don't think of it as a remake. Think of it as a different adaptation of the same story.

Quite. I can't be the only one here who'd enjoy seeing a more cerebral\thoughtful take on the story, can I?
Did you watch any science fiction movies made in the last couple of years? There's a 99% chance it will be full of overdone effects and dumbed down for the lowest common denominator.

Didn't see Moon, Inception, or District 9, then?

I'd sooner have Colin play Vilos Cohaagen than Quaid.

Colin Farrell should play Kuato.

I don't think the actor should have to or even try to fill the Governator's shoes. As said, the protagonist of the original story was supposed to be an average man, not a bodybuilder.

I would prefer if they kept the late-21st century setting, but it could easily work as a 20 minutes into the future type adaptation as well.

I'm cautiously optimistic in spite of the director (although he did direct the pilot of 'Hawaii-5-0' which I loved, but that's sort of a different animal from directing a film).
