I think a person needs to watch ALL of the remastered episodes again and expand their imaginations (in explaining the stupidity) when they re-watch TOS again.
Upon viewing:
Cheesey sets can be visualized as cool looking sets from JJ Abram's new Star Trek film.
Kirk and crew's constant coincidental run ins with planets that resemble Earth in some way could be explained by pulling out the Q (or higher entity) explanation card.

I just realized that I had bought a TOS remasted DVD set along time ago and never got around to watching any of them. I'm not fully sure I'm up to it yet with the silly sets and all. Maybe sometime.
A ToS violation can result in myriad consequences towards those who are guilty depending on the service and the severity of the violation. Most organizations reserve the right to restrict a user's access to the service if they violate the terms in the agreement, an action referred to as "ToSing the user". In more serious cases, the user will have his or her account terminated. Voyager and TNG were much the same, except TNG was lifted by Picard and Voyager dragged down by Janeway.

Those are not the Remastered Versions of the Original Series, my friend. Which by the way I own those DVD sets, too.
Actually, this is what the Remastered DVD sets look like...
The big difference is that they redone the special effects, cleaned up the picture and sound and made it look really incredible. I would highly recommend in checking them out at Netflix (whenever you get the chance).

Yeah, they still didn't clean up the picture or re-do the sounds and the special effects in those volumes (even though it says remastered on the covers). And yes. The US versions (of which I own says remastered on it). But those DVDs are not the New Remastered Edition DVDs with all the bells and whistles, though.

Personally, I would rent the Remastered Version of "Doomsday Machine" (Season 2 Disc 2) through the Canadian version of Netflix. That episode actually impressed me the most.

They enhanced the color and cleaned up the scratches within the screen. In fact, here is a brief behind the scenes clip on the process...

Star Trek wins because it had better science fiction. They looted story ideas from written SF the Fifties and even Sixties, as well as the Forties. They presented a new look for the future, with enough effort at scientific speculation to help the audience suspend disbelief.
Voyager was about presenting the Star Trek vision, which was thirty years out of date. They gave up on science, condemning it as technobabble. They still did some excellent stories. But some of them would have made more sense as Twilight Zone fantasies.

This is a really tough call IMO. I've always thought TOS was pants lol.
I respect it since it did launch the franchise. But it never had any real good character development or continuity. this is in start contrast to the cream of the Star Trek cream (namely TNG and DS9). DS9 is the Trek king in continuity terms, and TNG IMO in storytelling terms. TOS fell short big time compared to them.
TNG and DS9 also had the best actors in the entire franchise, who both played the best written and developed of all five Captains. Sir Patrick Stewart and Avery Brooks acted the hell out of their characters. I cannot name many scenes in TOS with Shatner and think 'damn, that's good acting'. But in TNG (plus the films) and DS9, well Sir Patrick and Avery Brooks ruled those shows. Where in all of TOS and the six films did Kirk have as good a scene as "the line must be drawn here!! this far, no further!!" Did kirk ever have a "the visitor" or 'In the Pale Moonlight". Heck no.
Voyager on the other hand was a good show. But it had the potential to be a great show. If it were not as top-heavy in character development, and had better continuity, yeah, it could have been TNG's and DS9's equal. Scorpion was an excellent episode and an all time Trek great episode. Stories like Tuvix, Jetrel, Author, Author and The Killing Game were all very good episodes. But the entire show was haphazardly produced, so the potential was never realised.
