As opposed to the "real" images of the Enterprise shuttlebay:rolleyes:

I knew someone would have something to say about my selecting a CG image for that juxtaposition. It was the image I felt worked best for that purpose. And anyway I like the remastered effects just fine myself.

FWIW, the computer graphics portray the shuttlecraft quite accurately, be it in comparison with the prop or the scale model. If there are problems with CGI, this certainly isn't one of them.

No sir. That is a cropped version of a CG rendering by Petri Blomqvist, published in Star Trek Communicator circa 2001.

It was discussed / argued extensively in the following thread, in which Mr, Blomqvist himself later chimed in (around page 8) to confirm that it was his work.

And yes, the irony that you mistook a CG rendering for the original hangar deck model is not lost on me, since I was taken to task for linking to a CG rendering earlier in this thread by someone who was also certain 3 years ago that this mere "simulacrum" was actually a photo of the "real" thing. :)

ON EDIT: Post happily corrected to reflect an erroneous assumption I had made about Mr. Blomqvist.
