Okay, riddle me this:
I finally got the TOS-R complete set from Amazon about a month or so ago, but when it arrived, the plastic Season 1 box casing was damaged, cracked enough that the two halves basically fell apart if you touched them.
Sent it back for an exchange, the new set arrived--and once again the Season 1 case was crunched, worse than before, with one half sticking out of the other at a funny angle even when still inside the plastic.
At this point I figured it was because of the way Amazon was packing them--basically, big heavy tape holding the set against one side of the shipping box--so the short version is that I sent it back, and have just gotten another copy from Overstock...
...which, while packed much better (with plastic airbags), has a crunched Season 1 plastic case, clearly falling apart under the shrinkwrap again!
Has this been a persistent problem with this set, for other people who've gotten it via mail, or am I just having a weirdly insistent run of bad luck? (And frankly, is it worth bothering to try again, or should I just give up and be glad for the DVDs themselves?)
