TOS-R on HD-DVD in the UK?

Is there any news on a TOS-R HD-DVD release for the UK or Europe?.
I have emailed a few people at Paramount Home entertainment to see if I can find out.
Meantime, anyone think this set is coming out in this region as soon as November?.
Can't find a release date.

Is HD-DVD region locked? Can you pick up a regionless player for HD-DVDs?

Will TOS-R be an HD only release?

That looks promising alright, well done on that find.
Hopefully that will be when it comes out.

TOS-R will come out on HD-DVD but the bonus of this format is they will be dual sided so that on the other side the regular DVD version will be there.
So it will be possible to view the remastered episodes in standard definition.

As far as region locking goes according to wiki "There is no Region Coding in the existing HD DVD specification, which means that titles from any country can be played in players in any other country.".

But, if they are releasing this in the US first with a later release in the UK, perhaps they will implement some kind of region control.

The beauty of the HD now is, if you go ahead and get the US release your HD version at least will not suffer from the NTSC picture definition downgrade that PAL viewers often see.
Of course the standard version will.

hd-dvd will be available world wide before the end of the year...starting in the us on nov. 20
