TOS-R"Omega.. ' butchered by syndications cuts.

I actually enjoy the Omega Glory. It's not one of the best episodes, but I think its far better than some of the worst. By the way, what is the running time for the TOS-R synication edits? I'm curious to know just how much they cut out. I'd say they excise at least 10 minutes worth of footage.

As I have said before, even weak episodes of TOS have their strong points. To me, the scenes on the Exeter are great, as are all of Morgan Woodward's, especially when he and Shatner are interacting. You gotta take the good with the bad.

You dudes are lucky I wasn't doing the syndication cuts for Omega Glory. I would have cut all references to yankees, communists, American flag/constitution. The end result wouldn't make any sense, but there you go.

^^^
That's the best part!

It's the Constitution people, still smarter than Dick Cheney I assure you, parallel planet or not. Come on... it was the Preservers... they were up too something. It's no coincidence there is a planet of First Peoples, Miri kids, and Korean era doomsday fear... which Omega Glory seems to racially stray into.. yikes...

I found it curious that the US flag reveal led Kirk, McCoy, AND SPOCK (who should have absolutely no allegiance or relative respect for it) to all three STAND when it entered the room. Silly!

Ron Tracey was a total ass, wasn't he? What a fucking imbecile!

The one bright spot in this episode is Morgan Woodward's portrayal of Captain Tracy. Just enough over-the-top to make you hate the guy while still feeling a little bit sorry for him.

Are you shittin' me? Captain Tracey was a selfish fuckwad who exploited and cruelly butchered stupid people for his own greedy ends. Kirks hould have strung him up by the end of his cock. Strung him up with a barbed wire noose!

The actual implication is that these people had SUCH long lives that the US Constitution existed THERE (as ancient words) some THOUSANDS of years before it was written here.

That in itself is a bit of a bizarre concept (though some sort of race memory COULD be a reason it has found its way to more than one planet in the galaxy).
At least nobody started to sing "All Around The Watchtower". ;)

I turned on the TV: 9.02pm:

Kirk is tied up, Tracy comes in: WTF!?

5 minutes go by: the beginning starts.

10 minutes go by: Kirk is tied up again.

Enterprise looked great: the hull color shading looks like "In a Mirror Darkly". Ymm.

McCoy: "Even that fine young thing who brought me lunch?"

Spock: "That 'young thing', as you call her, was over 300 years old."

McCoy: "Well, she didn't look a day over 200."

I believe that fine young thing bared all in
Clint Eastwood's "Magnum Force" (looks just like her at least)

I'm talking about a 40-year-old TV show, not the Bush administration!
