Never saw it, so I couldn’t say. I checked out after Into Darkness. I just can’t watch these cultural vandals deface Star Trek any further.
Trek's had bad movies before. I just hold out for the next one and keep my fingers crossed it'll be better.
Since when? *looks at his old Seattle Pilots hat*It's as if Trek is public domain and paid for with taxpayer funding and any deviation from 1964-2005 is some sort of unspeakable crime against art. Sorry. I think some of the product released since 2009 has been crap but no, this isn't "cultural vandalism" any more than buying a new cap from your favorite football team but with a different logo on it is "betraying your team."
Exactly. Was I disappointed with Star Trek V? Sure. Did I gripe about to it my friends? You bet. Did I hope to god the next movie was better? Absolutely.
But then I got on with my life. I didn't pen manifestos demanding that it be stricken from "canon" or insist that it wasn't "real" Trek. It was just a disappointing Star Trek movie, not a crime against fandom or whatever.

Shakespeare sucked too.The guy's gone, but still, people react so strongly to what amounts to entertainment. I'm kinda guilty of it in small doses, but really, it's like saying "the Daniel Craig movies SUCK! He ruined the franchise! I want a traditional Bond movie!" and then shake their fists at clouds.
Meanwhile, James Bond movies have always sucked at times. Connery, Moore, Brosnan. They all had stinkers. They also all had the best films in the series. Star Trek movies are like the episodes: they can be great, mediocre or bad. There's another coming up, though. Relax. It's just moving pictures.
Like a fen sucking fen-suck'd fogs.Shakespeare sucked too.
Even though I lived in the Bay Are for about 30 years, I've never had it.I lived in San Francisco for several years. Let me tell you, Rice-a-Roni is hardly a treat. And the only San Francisco treats I know are in the Castro.
I thought it was a nice scene. Beyond was really the only of the new films that had any of the spirit of the show.
I liked the first JJ film. Tolerated the second and to be honest fell asleep during it!!! (Not a Cumberbatch fan to be honest) And up to this date have not seen the third film yet. But I'd say that considering that the Quinto Spock is not the same incarnation as the Nimoy original due to the fact that they are from different realities rather than alternating time it's more like meeting yourself where you took different roads to get to where you are. Plus they do not possess the same features or come from the same technological societies! Saying that though Quinto is still miles above Ethan Peck as Speck!!! The guy who played Pike, Anson Mount was quite good I thought but no Jeff Hunter but their Spock was awful in my opinion! The scene looks good and could work in the future only if the Shatner Kirk returns to the franchise with the surviving people in the pic but I can't see that happening to be honest! One day I'll get around to the third film but at present I'm giving the original cycle of films another look!![]()
