TOS Prolog question.

I am watching the remastered versions on DVD and I am hearing something different in the prolog recited by Shatner. I always thought that it begins..Space, the final frontier. But I keep hearing him say, Space, a final frontier.

Am I hearing it correctly or do I have to clean the wax out of my ears?
