TOS (& other) fan-owned standing sets

Hate to beat Randy to the punch, but he is currently painting a transporter room.

Actually, I'm home sick today, but we'll be finished with the transporter room in time for next Wednesday's shoot.

I daresay that Potemkin is probably the only ones with a movie era bridge, so promote away!

Anyone who wants to use it is welcome to do so. Certain restrictions apply (no pyrotechnics, for example), of course. I've had a few inquiries, but no one's taken us up on our offer.

Indeed! Not fully to scale, but certainly true to the design ethic of the refit bridges used on the Enterprise refit from WOK onward. A full size true duplication of the TMP bridge would be awesome, but finding a way to replicate the compound curves of the wall segments, and the doodad encrusted ceiling, would probably prohibitively expensive to ever hope to achieve on a fanfilm budget.



... of course, I supposed that if James Cawley ever won the NY Lotto Jackpot, an accurate TMP fan-bridge would be a certainty, don'tcha think?

Can't wait until "The Void" comes out. I think people are going to like it. Aside from the story (which is great), the special effects I have seen thus far have been incredible. They move the story along without taking over the story. Hard to believe they are from some under funded fan film and not a real production.

Another TOS bridge and sets are the USS Excalibur fan film in Las Vegas with Joseph Kerezman and crew. They are in pre-production and building or should I say rebuilding but they are making progress.

I'm glad you have lost it! Wish I could. Maybe now that the filming is just about done for "Night the Stars Fell from the Sky," I can get back to working around the house and getting that weight down.

Everyone involved with the VFX did a FANTASTIC job. I think it's going to be very well received for a fan film. It's getting the score right now, and then we'll be ready to release it. Exciting!

That would be Ricky Thompson, Van Buchanan, my father-in-law and my three kids. I think it really came out nice, especially considering the space restrictions.

360 bridge w/ partial dome (I don't think we'll
ever be able to complete a FULL dome, but
maybe), a full Briefing Room, Sickbay, Captain/Crew
cabin, a long Corridor, and a partial Engineering
Room.

Yeah, wish us luck, it's needed. :-)

Dude, that looks really cool! Especially the Nav Helm. A shame it all got tossed. I'm filming some bridge scenes for Yorktown in LA next summer. Could have used some of those props, for sure!

Somewhere in my garage, I have all of the old console backlit panels. If I find them, I'll let you know -- though I doubt they'd hold up under today's HD cameras. They were all hand=painted from the back on plexiglass.

I recieved word from a friend of someone who is looking to sell a TOS style bridge down near Toronto, Canada. I saw pics and it looks pretty cool. Wasn't used in a film; I believe it was for conventions. I'll post some pics tonight. If I had room somewhere for it, I would probably buy it. Sigh...

Star Trek: The Legacy is a film on long term hold or abandon. The person in charge decided to devote himself to his fatherhood, not his film. From the Yorktown experience, I always take the position you can't count any film out, even if the count was finished and the film officially abandon long ago. But if the set exists at all, it is probably in Germany, and Willi, the fellow who identifies himself as the German Spock, is probably the person who would know what became of the set, if you can't contact the original filmmakers. I'd start at the Phase II forums, they have a lot of support from the German Trek community.

"Salvageable" maybe. Salvage projects can some times take more time and effort than building from scratch. YMMV.
