TOS on Netflix

Been watching a few episodes of TOS on Netflix tonight, I'd assumed that all the episodes on there were remastered as all the ones I've watched up until now were, but I've seen 2 episodes in a row now that have used the original effects. It's nice to see them again (though it reaffirms how much I prefer the remastered version), but it just seems a bit odd - surely they'd all be one version or the other? Wondering if this is just in the UK or on Netlfix everywhere, can anyone verify?

Also, imagine my surprise when I log onto Netflix and see this:

New episodes?!

Turns out they'd just added "The Cage" to the available episodes, but it amused me.

The two original effects episodes are in the U.S. also.

I'm rewatching TOS as part of another ongoing thread here for the first time in a long time. I've never seen the remasters and am realizing how much I don't like the new sfx.

I did a quick spot check. I see remastered on Journey to Babel but original on The Cage and Obsession.

On Amazon you can pick Original or Remastered, but Original is SD.

And most of the third season as well as a few episodes of the second, have a pre-DVD sound mix. It's lovely! They have the same mix as the mid-80's prints at least. Whether that's the same as the original mix, I don't know. but it's not far off.
