TOS on BBC

The visual quality of the episodes on BBC are superior to any other broadcast to date. Are these the same blu ray transfers or yet another rescan for prep to 4K?

I don't usually watch BBC America, however I made an exception when they started broadcasting remastered TOS. I'm not sure but the episodes do appear to be of higher quality than other versions.

BBC America has made it a point to broadcast the HD versions of TNG, so it's no surprise they would do it for TOS too.

Just from a TV industry insider perspective, when a show gets remastered to HD quality these days, it's not just for home video, but for distribution as well. It makes it more marketable, I figure.

I don't think BBC America or any cable channel in the US for that matter is capable of 4k at this time.

The BBCs transmissions of Star Trek have always been of a very high quality even for us black n' white viewers in the seventies! Shame about their transmission order though...:shifty:
