TOS Legacies Trilogy

Do we know yet whether these will fit into the existing (modern) Pocket continuity, or be "their own thing" like Crucible?
We're not worrying about it one way or the other. There might be some subtle nods to elements of the ongoing literary continuity, but we wanted the trilogy to be able to stand alone as a TOS event for the anniversary, so that any fan of the original series could pick them up and dive right in.

Which, IIRC is SOP for TOS 5YM novels in general.

Ignoring books explicitly tied to the novelverse (Allegiance in Exile), my belief is that they generally at least try to stay consistent with the other TOS/novelverse books, even if there aren't any explicit ties. (For example, The Rings of Time and CLB's DTI books, or That Which Divides's portrayal of the Romulans, or the various books using Gary Seven recently.)

Books like that still interest me. Something that's incompatible like Crucible doesn't.

But all of those examples except That Which Divides are explicitly sequels of one sort or another to other Litverse things (with Rings of Time also being a sequel of sorts to the Khan duology), and That Which Divides looks to have been intended as part of the Litverse judging by the later reference to it in Seekers #4. For books that aren't really meant to tie in - ones like Crisis of Consciousness, Serpents in the Garden, The Folded World - it seems a lot more like what David Mack and Wormhole were talking about: not worrying about it either way, not taking effort to be consistent but not going out of their way to be inconsistent.

Perfectly ok with that. Just like the 80s/90s books, just have fun with the characters and tell a good story. It doesn't all have to fit perfectly, just don't totally wander off the reservation and we're good. I mean, most of the old numbered books contradict each other, some tie it, some hint at each other, it's all good. The 5YM already has to be about 100 years long to account for all the stories anyway, so it's fine.

Trilogy sounds like fun, can't wait.
