TOS KFC commerical--how did we miss this?

A fun commercial! I never saw this either until now. Glad to see people paying homage to the orginal Trek!

That is Australian. I never saw this full version but I remember the abridged version being played a lot on tv here.

It's funny how you forget things.

Finger-lickin' good! I haven't heard that in a KFC commercial since....ever in my lifetime. :rommie: Boy, copyright laws must be different in other countries to get away with this. We don't see anything like this aside from commercials for kids toys.

Damn, now I want chicken, and it's meatloaf night. :klingon::lol:

That commercial had some of the best TOS uniform reproductions I've seen in a Trek parody. They look as good as the ones used in the fan films (Exeter, NV/PII, etc.).

Ah I remember that one...especially how well they managed to cast the roles. I did double and triple takes to make sure Uhura and Chekov weren't really Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig. :rommie:

Interesting how they steered clear of Spock and McCoy. I suspect those two are the hardest to "match" with the available pool of acting talent.

What I want to know is:

Why does this guy have a better toupee than the ones Shatner wore in the TOS-based movies?

Hey, someone find that wig and send it to the New Voyages guys. ;-)

I love the first shot, he's got that look down pat. Some very good matches and the Uhura stand in is actually prettier than Nichelle Nichols. Everyone is awesoe in that.

I wish I could find the old White Castle commercial where they had an AMT model Enterprise pull up to a White Castle space station drive thru and order a zillion burgers....

I agree with the comment about the bridge recreation. I've actually downloaded the thing and burned it to DVD to watch on my TV.

Bridge looks a little larger than we're used to, and there were never so many screens lining the black station walls on the real bridge, but it's so close...

If the new movie did the bridge that way, I'd count it as being "unchanged". Like the movie uniforms will apparently look pretty much the same except for the colored part being separate from the black collar, and the badge now being a pin-on instead of sewed in.
