TOS-Hawaii Five 0

It's fun watching both 5-0 and Mission: Impossible I try to watch an ep of both on the weekend). There are very often Trek actors, and some episodes have a veritable cavalcade of Trek actors in them.

Trek didn't exist in a vacuum, though. "Bit Actors", guys who would play the weekly heavy, women who played the weekly love interest, victim, etc, were far, far more common in those days than now. It was considered good, steady work to be a 'character actor', and a lot of these guys really did make some of the classic shows the gems that they are.

Compare the 'real world' feeling of TOS Trek to TNG, which relied more on it's 'stars' to carry every single scene and padded out other roles with model/actresses.

As for Mission: Impossible, it was produced by the same studio as Star Trek, was filmed on adjacent soundstages, and for its first three seasons had the same casting director, Joseph D'Agosta. So it's no surprise that many of the same actors did both shows. But Hawaii Five-O was from a different studio and network, had a different casting director, and had no producers in common with ST. And looking over the credits on IMDb, it looks to me like its proportion of guest stars who did Trek is lower than M:I's. Most of the crossover names I'm seeing are character actors who worked all over.

^Garamet's boyfriend (Jack Donner/Subcommander Tal) seemed to be in a lot of M:I eps.

The series "The Invaders" is just chock-full of Trek guest stars..some in more than 1 role..

and lets not forget "The Wild Wild West"...
