"The Comet Chasers"
The Enterprise is dispatched to the Neutral Zone to deal with reported sightings of a Romulan Bird-of-prey in Federation space. However, each time a new sighting is reported, the Enterprise finds they find there is nothing particularly wrong with the starbase or outpost reporting the sighting, and no Romulan ship to be found. Even more strange, in each instance, the station or outpost denies having reported a sighting of a Romulan ship at all. After the third reported sighting with no results, a frustrated Kirk is about to call off this "wild comet chase" when Spock finally discover that a strange noise can be heard in all the audio transmissions alerting the Enterprise of a Romulan sighting. The noise is narrowed down to an Orion Pirate, who is operating on a moon just outside the neutral zone. When the Enterprise arrives at the moon to apprehend the Pirate, his base of operations is found abandoned. McCoy quips, "If you chase a comet long enough, it's bound to get away."
Next Episode: "Stand By Me" (Ben E. King Song)

"Stand By Me"
McCoy faces possible court-martial for causing a diplomatic incident, when he refuses to withhold medical treatment, from crash survivors the Enterprise has rendered aid to, & whose government wish them returned. The survivors are not especially hurt but are in pain, because (in Bones' view) they have "Barbaric" pain inducing devices implanted in them that are used for population control on their world, and are proximity activated, when they stray too far from their world, which they inadvertently did when they crashed. When he defiantly removes them, it's argued he has violated the Prime Directive. Kirk takes up his defense

The Belly of The Beast

The Enterprise is sent on a fact finding mission into Kzinti space. They find themselves surrounded by a massed fleet of warships led by a charismatic Patriarch bent on invading federation space. While Kzinti technology is not at the level of the federation the enterprise is hopelessly outnumbered. The crew must find a way to warn Starfleet and/or stop the fleet on their own.

Next episode: The Man Who Would be King

The Man Who Would be King: While resupplying a colony world with agricultural tools, Scotty moves an object in the cave where the items are to be stored, exposing a previously unexplored "crypt" of the long-abandoned planet's ancient ruler. He accidentally wakes the man, who is determined to reclaim his throne and rule over his new subjects - the colony and the Enterprise crew. Only one person can challenge his rule: Scotty, who must battle the man to a stalemate, or death. No technology allowed - only ancient weapons.

Next episode: "Tempus Fugit"

"Tempus Fugit"
The Enterprise finds itself in an unusual spacial expanse where time moves at an accelerated pace, depending on the warp factor of the ship. As they attempt to decrease warp factor, the crew begin noticing physiological effects such as beards & nails growing rapidly, which is a clear indication that days of their lives are passing by. The temporary solution is to keep the ship moving at higher warp speeds, to minimize the effect, which is taxing the ship's engines & its crew, while they scramble to improvise an alternative end to this runaway train.

Next Episode: Two Sides of The Same Coin

"Two Sides of The Same Coin" - An Enterprise shuttle rendezvouses with a starship carrying a corrupt Starfleet officer to trial - one of Chekov's childhood friends - who is accused of having betrayed his captain for personal gain. Tasked with guarding/debriefing his former friend, Chekov wonders if there would ever be a situation in which he would do the same. The people that his friend was working with attack the shuttle in a bid to free him. Said friend suggests that if they surrender him, they can leave in peace. What will Chekov choose?

Next episode: "When All The Leaves Have Fallen"

WHEN ALL THE LEAVES HAVE FALLEN............then Michael Forest returns as Apollo.*

(*This would occur before the non-canon PILGRIM OF ETERNITY...though perhaps after the equally non-canon offscreen demise of Palamas.) Anyhow, Apollo does in fact return, but he still has a liking for ladies in blue. Looks like Mira Romaine picked the worst week to return. There goes Scotty's marriage proposal, at least until Apollo is talked down or subdued.
Scotty and Apollo still work together as well as gasoline and a Bic, so I'd estimate he'll have three or four separate visits to sickbay. Apollo offers Romaine the colorful dimension of Grecius, but she's had her full of colored lights and turns him down flat. Hilarity ensues until Apollo decides Yeoman Tina Lawton might be a better match.

NEXT EPISODE: Deneva Va Va Voom, or if you prefer:

BONE'S MOUTH

BONE'S MOUTH

Romulans kidnap Dr McCoy and replace him with a talkative double designed to collect as much information about the Enterprise and strength of Starfleet before doing a full assault.

NEXT EPISODE: KIRK'S FRONT EAR (or, if you prefer, Deneva Va Va Voom )

DENEVA VA VA VOOM
On shore leave, Scotty goes on a drunken pub crawl through Deveva's bars and strip clubs dragging a hapless Chekov after him. Hilarity ensues.
I Sing The Body Electric

Running a writers-strike clip-show with Uhura almost getting fatally zapped by Charlie X would not actually work here. So...

I SING THE BODY ELECTRIC: FOR THE WORLD REMAINS HOLLOW AND I AM PUNISHING McCOY'S FRIENDS FOR ONCE AGAIN SNOOPING AROUND. (That's not JUST an alternate title, but the plot concept. No Kirk/Spock drama has ever been more sizzling.)

Next up: COURT MARTIAL II: ROJAN vs. KIRK

THE WARP TO END ALL WARPS: The Enterprise's warp engines malfunction during a high-speed departure from an accidental incursion into Klingon space, sending the ship through a field that twists (everything is twisted and upside down, sections are connected to each other that were not previously, etc). Surprisingly, nobody is killed, but crew members are trapped in various sections, impeding progress, and communications are impaired. Scott determines that the ship is slowly untwisting into its normal state, but can't fly until it's back to normal. Trouble comes in the form of a Klingon ship which sees the sitting duck that is the Enterprise.

Next episode: "Invitation to Tespilla"

INVITATION TO TESPILLA

It's actually a trap, engineered by the Romulan warlord Allipset (ferociously portrayed by Lou Wagner). But once Spock registers the name-similarity, he, McCoy and Uhura are captured by the Romulan team, giving them temporary command of the Enterprise. Elsewhere on Starbase 14, Kirk's captaincy-training for Chekov backfires when the Russian ensign gets a record-low Kobayashi Maru score of Negative 48.. But Sulu is suddenly inspired when Kirk comments all yellow-shirted males get promotions much quicker in Starfleet on the whole. In the Act Four resolution, Scotty stumbles in and frees the Enterprise rather quickly......almost as swiftly as when Indy Jones nuked the swordsman with one shot. Allipset survives the encounter, but the Romulans demote him to watching constellations on 20th century airplanes. All is well.

NEXT WEEK A Cosmic Joke

A Cosmic Joke: The Enterprise is transporting an ex-Starfleet officer, now a comedian, whose schtick is making fun of Starfleet life, to a colony world, along with his lovely wife - they plan to settle there. En route, the ship runs into an alien race who will only negotiate passage through their space with the comedian. There's a catch: as much as the comedian jokes about the foibles of his old job, the reasons for his leaving are no laughing matter; a failed mission that bears a haunting resemblance to this one. Can he save the ship while facing his demons?

Next episode: "Bird of Paradise"

"Bird of Paradise"

While on a search & rescue mission, the Enterprise finds the USS Cyllene adrift with all hands aboard but lying inexplicably deceased from dehydration and/or starvation. Concerned about environmental contaminants being responsible, they conduct thorough sensor studies to determine the safeness of sending multiple teams aboard for investigation/salvage. Shortly after being aboard, the crew begin exhibiting signs of euphoria, ecstasy and begin falling blissfully in love with each other. While funny at first, eventually no one wishes to return, or work, or do anything at all, except be happy & in love. It's determined that while the atmospheric conditions were normal, the ship's lighting had gotten invaded by a bacterium, causing people to lose their drive to do anything but be blissful and perish. Fearing cross-contamination, Spock devises a plan to purge all light from both ships until a sterilization sweep can be done on both ships, which returns everyone to normal.

Oh, cool. Is Scotty using a Claymore?
