On many message forums, particularly those discussing model kits, there's a lot of discussion regarding the possibility of a 1/350 scale TOS Enterprise. This could well be the most desired kit, at least as a science fiction subject, for a great many people.

Indeed it appears that people are already placing pre-orders with hobby retailers online and in stores for a kit that hasn't even been produced yet in a push to convince Round2 that the interest is there and to encourage them to go ahead with producing the kit.

I, for one, seriously want this kit and have been waiting more than thirty years for it. I appreciated the Polar Lights 1/1000 scale kit for its devotion to accuracy, but I was a little disappointed by its size. We all loved it, but we'd rather it had been bigger.

Now I'm not advocating that anyone who is interested in such a kit go right out and place a pre-order. I'm inclined to, but it's something you have to weigh yourself.

In addition, though, I'm keenly interested in seeing Round2 produce something we've never had: a good and decent sized TOS shuttlecraft model. The old AMT kit was brutal and it's ironic that the very company that built the original fullsize exterior model for the TOS could get their model kit so brutally wrong. Now Randy Cooper markets a TOS Galileo resin kit in about 1/25 scale that's about 12in. long. It's quite nice, but it's also $300 US. We want and need something more affordable for the average modeler and fan.

So in addition to the 1/350 TOS Enterprise I'd also love to see a 1/18 scale Galileo shuttlecraft, including an interior, option to light the impulse engines and alternate decals to make the other Enterprise's shuttlecraft.

I'm suggesting a 1/18 scale because that would give us a kit about 16-17in. long---a nice size. Now a 1/24 scale kit would be about 12-13in. and a 1/12 scale kit would be a honkin' 25-26in.

So while we can discuss these kits we can also have an informal poll to gauge interest in these potential kits.

Note: please limit your choices to 1 each regarding each subject.

I love this desktop art from Round.

A big ol' TOS-E would be at the very top of my list, and I'd love a big TOS shuttle as well.

Both of them warped 9 defo have the shuttles still building the four the enterprise Had.?

Was this sentence arrived at through random dice rolls? What are you trying to say here?

I was confused at first, too, but I think he's saying he's definately interested in both and he's still working on models based on my drawings.

Hi guys yes I will be interested in both kits I've got the bug for star trek kits again. Being buying kits from eBay anywhere I can but I'm interested in the old AMT kits.

Hopefully I'll finish my shuttles and then post them on here. ?

The response here isn't anything like on the Hobbytalk boards. Maybe not as many modelers here---actual physical models that is besides 3D modelers.

Well, I also have been waiting 30+ years for a decent Big E model kit. I'll be buying at least two kits, possibly three. Now, if I can convince my wife to actually display it in the house somewhere .... ;)

As for the shuttle, I'd pick up several kits. I still have one or two ATM kits in storage that I wanted to build, but I did read about the gross inaccuracies, hence them still sitting in boxes. An accurate 12 to 16 inch long kit would be nice.

A dream kit would be the 1/350 Enterprise packaged similarly as the Polar Lights 1/1000 kit, with alternate parts to build one of the three versions: 1st pilot, 2nd pilot and series production. Also allow for lighting the kit would be nice and maybe even the option to have the hangar doors open with a miniature flight deck inside.

It's also possible that the alternate parts for the other versions could be sold separately to help keep the cost of the main kit down. I'd be okay with that.

I'd love a 1/350 Enterprise with the option to build all 3 versions. I'd likely get three, so I can build one of each. I know a lot of modelers like lighting and all that jazz, but it's not my personal cup of tea, so I'd be happy just to build the ships themselves.

If we got a decent-sized shuttle, or even a 1/24 scale one with accurate detail, I'd buy about four of them.
