Wow, this is a hell of a thing..from Star Trek's "lost era". They all seem to have a good recollection of the show.

Apparently Gene Roddenberry was supposed to come but was "sick". Harlan Ellison however, DOES make an appearance.

I saw that the night it aired, and sat at the TV to get the show on audio tape. I did the same thing when a young man interviewed Leonard Nimoy on PBS one night. In those days, seeing them out of character seemed like a much bigger deal.

I remember the old microphone next to the telly stuff and later on the audio plug which allowed us to tape the soundtracks without worrying about speaking or coughing!

In the early 80s I thought I was the only idiot recording actual episodes off the tv. The odd thing was, I actually listened to them after.

Anyone remember these LP/comic sets?

^My brother had that one. I remember listening to it a few times. It always bothered me that they made Lt. Uhura white and Lt. Sulu black. I didn't notice when i was little, but the voice actor for Spock is the same actor that did Commander Koenig's voice in the Space: 1999 book and record stories.
