Jack's daughter is hot! The episode was very good, just like the previous two installments. The 456 look like giant scorpions...

Another great episode.
The portrayal of the 456 was very good, love the thrashing vomit language.
Can't wait for tonights episode.
The group seems much tighter without Owen and Tosh, the pacing of the show works better without them.

I don't think it's so much the fact that Tosh and Owen aren't there, I just think the writing is better and RTD seems to have taken more interest and care over writing the arc and keeping it together.

I could not place her but i think i remember her from such shows as Einstein and Eddington.

Aha! You are brilliant. As soon as I clicked that link I realised I know her from Cape Wrath.

That boffin in the mustard coloured lab coat really creeps me out...

I like that Black-Ops woman (who was also in Resident Evil, Dead Set, and Fortress 2)...I wonder if the Black Ops woman and her team switch sides, then end up as members of a genuinely resurgent Torchwood Institute?

The guy in the lab coat reminded me of Brad Dourif in Alien Ressurection once or twice. not sure why - I think it was the breathing against the tank that reminded me of the whole mimicking the Alien scene in that movie.

Black Ops woman... was she in Bad Girls too? I might have recognied her from Dead Set, barely remember ResEvil.

And yeah... I had a thought last night that they could be a 'new' Torchwood, or at least trying to get the job. Though I may have thought that as its all conspiracy and X-Filesey. Which.. I quite like.

On the music... anyone else hear a distinct lack of the usual Torchwood theme?

Looks like it's still going strong

From Digital Spy
The third instalment of the five part series pulled in an impressive 5.87m (27.1%), making it the most-watched show during the 9pm hour. The audience figures are up slightly from yesterday's performance and remained fairly even with Monday's premiere.

Excellent! Although you do have to wonder where Torchwood goes from here. Back to a 13 episode series of (let's be honest) variable quality, or an annual 5 episode "event"? Personally I think I'd go with an event, but that's prone to problems, coming up with something as good as this on an annual basis? Brilliant if they can do it (and obviously fewer episodes and a single story gives you the opportunity to fine tune in a way 13 seperate episodes doesn't).

It would be ironic if Torchwood ended on a high...

I think I'd be happy with a "5 hour event" too, but I'm willing to see what they come up with. One thing that does have me wondering though, if RTD is going to American, and keeping his Exec. Prod. jobs on both Sarah Jane and Torchwood, how is he going to manage to be hands on, while looking for (doing) work in the US?

Gave this one my first top grading. It all worked so well - the humour and the tense atmosphere. I didn't quite twig as to Jack's role either, so was a bit surprised by that revelation.

Can Days Four and Five really keep this going? The quality and consistency is unreal. And this from a show that gave us a sex-gas alien. Wow.

I share the same astonishment. This has been a triumph for RTD and Torchwood so far, I do hope this standard will be kept up right until the end credits on Friday.

This is also the first time I will be buying Torchwood on disc. It's good enough to spend money on imho.

I'd split the difference. Do three of four 2-part stories with episodes shown on consecutive nights, like they do with "Waking The Dead" and a couple of other series.

AI for Day Two was 90 BTW, one of the highest received by any drama shown so far this year.

This series is far better then any of the previous Torchwood episodes (which I hate). I actually quite enjoyed this, even Doctor Who itself should use it as a benchmark. Love the format, it's like old school Who.

Glad that Torchwood got rid of Owen and Tosh, they killed the series for me... much better now it's streamlined. Looking forward to day four tonight! :)

1) He doesn't have to be on-set every day.
2) There is this thing called "the Internet" and "e-mail."

I know, but how secure is that when you know tabloids will be trying to get whatever they can, wouldn't put it past them to hack the accounts.
Also, when it it comes to sending dailies, and being involved in the editing process, it'll be a much more difficult process. I suppose they could always do it at BBC America but I'm not sure how that'd work between the production staff here and there.

Above average. Definitely some good stuff in there. A bit more progress than part 2. But, way too much filming TV screens and zooming into the mouth and eyes. The negotiations were intense. Torchwood team spent a lot of the time watching their screen though rather than participating. Mixed bag but overall enjoyable.

Still no naked women!

rights lets start with the 456, very hidden, that or they were the dust on my half heartily cleaned TV, I hope we do get a good look, very strange behaviour, in the tank however.

its a shame Ianto & Jack almost restart the chat they had about Ianto only being a very small part of Jacks life from "Deadline" and seemingly having it for the first time :(

like Mr Awe said the Torchwood team still have not done alot, but Torchwood is like 24 in that respect, Jack spends the first few episodes clearing up one thing, but later leads to the big threat, in this case what can Torchwood do? they need to learn about the 456 to know how to stop it, and Lois is the only way to do that.

Jacks involvement no real surprise here, he has done similar things before "Small World" for example, hell that most have been a work in the park compared to 1965, surprised he let Clem go free however.

excellent episode. i apparrently know Jack's fit MILF daughter (jiggly bewbs!) from Ballet Shoes.

in my defence i only watched that show to see Maria from SJA and Emma Watson in other stuff.

Gave this top vote, first time ever for TW, don't think I did it much for Who.

Tense, mature without being that kiddy 'adult' that TWs1 was, deep.

The 456 playing along with Frobisher about keeping the first event hidden, and then blatantly asking for kids again. And holy shit, ten percent! Whoa! :wtf:

I called it, I said to my kids "Jack's the bus driver" at the end of ep 1. But I didn't realise how badly it had gone. What did they do with the kids? And what will they do with the rest?

Wouldn't it have been great if TW had been like this from the start?

I think Owen would have worked if he'd still been there. Burn Gorham has a face like a smashed melon, but he can be an actor of some subtlety and depth. Tosh... not so much, on all counts. What's she doing now?

I have no idea how this is going to play out. Which is great.
