She wasn't listed on the list but since I'm watching "Planet of the Dead" right now I'd love Lady Christina to return. Thought she was fantastic and would be interesting to see Michelle Ryan act with Matt.

^Lady Christina might be better with Smith than Tennant, too. I didn't list her, though, because she's not a Companion as is understood by the term. She's a Very Special Guest-Star, kind of like Jackson Lake, and the hard-ass from Waters of Mars. But, I guess I could have put an "Other" check box, huh?

Well, as others have said, Susan and Jamie are no-brainers (and a bit fanwanky) so I'll not include them here.

I've also accepted that we'll never see Tom Baker's suggested giant cabbage companion - so let's forget him/her/it too...

So that leaves me to select the companions that, to me, came across as the most interesting (and most likely to have interesting continuing character development) - so, in no particular order, we have:
