Top 10 Sci-Fi Shows

In no particular order:

Blakes 7
Babylon 5
Farscape

Those three are out on their own. I usually describe B7 as my favourite, as it (along with classic Who) was the show that really hooked me on SF, but the other two are just as great IMO.

classic Doctor Who (new Who has never appealed to me in anything like the same way the original did and still does. It's safe to say that if new Who had been my introduction, I'd have stopped watching pretty much straight away)
Lost
The Twilight Zone (original)
TOS / TNG / Voyager (I like them equally)
The Avengers (the Emma Peel era, when the show was basically SF).

1) Star Trek TOS
2) Star Trek DS9
3) Firefly
4) Classic Doctor Who (Before 2005)
5) Battlestar Galactica (Original)
6) NuBattlestar Galactica
7) Star Trek TNG
8) The Twilight Zone
9) Quantum Leap
10) Life on Mars

In no particular order

7. Battlestar Galactica (1978)
8. Buck Rogers
9. Firefly
10. Farscape
11. The Twilight Zone (1959-1964)

I know, I named eleven, but, although the last two left alot to be desired, the Star Trek universe is the best thing that ever happened to science fiction, and to not name all of them (yes, even the bad ones) would just be wrong.

There aren't really ten top scifi series, at least not in the sense of being consistently good. Lost was remarkably inventive but wrecked itself. Farscape was fearless in its determination to milk every cliche in scifi but it ended up falsifying its own characters and themes. The 4400 was completely ambiguous, which is cowardice, not good writing.

Of the good scifi series, Third Rock from the Sun
really has to take the number one spot.

Second, Star Trek.

Third, Outer Limits, original version.

Fourth, Babylon 5.

Fifth, Stargate SG-1

Sixth, Alien Nation.

Seventh, Outer Limits, new version.

But eighth? Threshold was incomplete, Voyager's awful episodes made Star Trek's awful episodes look like noble attempts at television drama.

1. Battlestar Galactica (RDM)
2. Firefly
3. ReBoot
4. Lost
5. Star Wars: The Clone Wars
6. Star Trek: DS9
7. Star Trek Voyager
8. Aqua Teen Hunger Force
9. Batman: The Animated Series
10. Spider-Man (90's animated series)
