Too Human

Never heard of it?

May the Wiki article be your only experience of the game. You'll have lived a richer, fuller, happier life for not having actually played this utter abortion of code.

Quick "review", for what it's worth:

The good: Um. Cybernetic Norse Gods sounds like a mildly interesting hook when you read the little blurb on the back of the box.

The bad: The mind-bogglingly stupid controls, in combination with the HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE camera (you have no control whatsoever over it), render the game practically unplayable. And even if the game were playable, it feels like a Devil May Cry clone with an RPG element. But no matter how robust the RPG element may be (and it apparently is), you'd never know, because the game is too frustrating to play for more than an hour. That, and the visuals seriously look like a rushed out 360 launch title that had been ported from the original Xbox. 2003-ish graphics, seriously.

Isn't this done by the same people that did Eternal Darkness for the GameCube? If so they really need to start working on making a camera system that works. Made ED useless.

That said this game has to suck considering it was going to be a PS1 game, the N64, then Gamecube. I think it might come out for the Sega BakBitcha! system.

If it was more of a roleplaying game, I might be interested in trying the demo but from everything I have seen it looks like a hack and slash with minor roleplay elements.

The game idea has been tossed around for years but nothing was ever coded. So, saying that it "has to suck" because it had been planed for previous generation consoles isnt correct. They didnt actually start to develop the game until this generation of consoles.

I went in expecting to find it horrible, but actually I only found it mediocre. Which is something! I didn't find the controls to be unplayable once I got used to the fact that you just hold the right stick in the direction you want to be attacking in. Not that I think it's great, but I did find it playable. I do have to admit that I find their story interesting... not enough to pay full price for it, though.

If this game bombs (and based on what I've read it seems likely) do you think Silicon Knights will run back to Nintendo like Factor 5 did after Lair bombed?

Surely if it bombs it's Epic's fault?
Silicon Knights are the ones who blamed Epic for everything aren't they? Saying they didn't keep them up-to-date with the Unreal engine.

It was hella confusing having the right stick control the sword. Frequently my little team saw me start to manically thrash about just 'cause I wanted to look behind me.

I didn't enjoy it - but opinion seems pretty split in the community.

I kinda suspected it wasn't going to be the be-all and end-all action RPG OF ALL THYME that the fucking hype suggested.
