Tony Scott Is Directing Mark Millar's Nemesis!

Like most major directors, Tony Scott gets attached to a lot of projects, most of which he doesn't end up actually making, so we'll see whether Millar's wish actually comes to fruition. This is only just entering the script stage and won't be Tony Scott's follow-up to Unstoppable.

Did you read the article? Millar pretty much says that Scott is directing it and wasn't able to talk about it until now. He wouldn't have done that unless it's a done deal or they're in final stages of talks. It probably won't be his follow up to "Unstoppable" (which I won't be seeing) as you say but it sounds from Millar's blog like it's a done deal already.

It's a done deal that he's signed on, yes, but directors sign on to projects all the time only to depart them later in the development process. A lot of projects have a number of directors come and go in the development process. So just because Tony Scott has signed to direct Nemesis doesn't make it a 100% certainty that he will in fact direct the film.

So like Dark Avengers?
More along the lines of "What if the Joker had all of the money, skills, and knowledge of Batman at his disposal, but instead of trying to make the world a better place, he decided to be a total premeditated psychopath?" Think of Grant Morrison's "Batman thinks of everything" characterization grafted onto Heath Ledger's The Joker, and you're there.

I'm so iffy on Mark Millar... For every one thing I've read of his that I like, there are two or three others that I can't stand. I've gotten to the point where I don't want to take the chance on reading anything he's done until a whole bunch of my friends tell me I'll probably like it.

So far I've read Millar's "Superman Red Son", "Kick-Ass", "Wanted" his Marvel Knights Spider-Man run, "Ultimate X-Men" (his run was spectacular) "Ultimates", and "Wolverine: Old Man Logan" (the only thing of his so far that I didn't like). Have read the first issue of "Nemesis" and it was interesting. Like I said I'm going to read it in trade.
