Tonight's Family Guy Should Have Stayed Unaired

I LOVE Conway Twitty. About 30 seconds in, I said "they better play the entire video now, because this is great!", and they did. It was the best part of the episode, in my opinion.

Right before tonight's airing of Family Guy, there was a screen which noted that this was an unaired episode that was made in early 2007.

Well, after watching it, I can see what it was unaired. They pretty much ruined the episode about 5 minutes in with a 5-minute long Conway Twitty video that wasn't funny at all. They did this joke around this time in another episode, except that it was much shorter and less annoying.

The OJ Simpson jokes were somewhat dated because this was made before the whole incident in Las Vegas that he was eventually convicted for.

Well, I have no problem with you complaining about this or any other episode. However, if you are just going to fabricate the details to complain about, then please don't. The length of the sequence was less than three minutes, 2:47 to be exact. It was not five minutes as you falsely stated.

You're new, so let me offer a little advice: relax. ;)

Does anyone really want to say that the fact it was "only" 2:47 means it wasn't way, way too long? Just checking. I realize that wasn't tlm550's point, too. My point is: 2 minutes, 5 minutes, it's all pointing to the same conclusion: Too damn long.

You registered to post that? A little hyperbole still illustrates the point that the segment was way too long.

I wanna know why Fox opts to air 3 week old repeats of Simpsons, FG, and American Dad when they could pick anything from the current season.

There's no way you're serious......

....is there??

Good interview with Seth McFarlane on ABC News last night (4/6).

I had no idea he could actually score music for an entire orchestra as well.

The Twitty "joke" was just horrible, horrible, horrible. I actually did leave the room after about a minute, and didn't come back. Wasting even 2:47 on this showed the depths of the laziness of the show's writers and their complete and utter lack of ability to make this show entertaining again. I was almost insulted. I haven't watched so much as a re-run of FG since viewing this episode.

I think they should have just shown more Conway Twitty videos after that.

I was thinking about the OJ Simpson episode. I really believe that the whole episode was made just so they could make that little dig at the Simpsons at the end.

I'm just glad I was watching thing via my cable provider's On Demand service, since it meant I was able to fast forward through the song once I realised they weren't going to cut the clip after 30 seconds...

As Conway went on, I imagined all the Family Guy fans around the country getting REALLY mad about it.

I laughed about that thought for almost the entire 3 minutes.

I am very pleased to come here and find out that my assessment was correct and that it actually made some of you guys angry.

Fantastic joke. :guffaw:

Who else does meta humor like that? It ain't easy.
