Tom Paris' Veiled Reference

Photon

Commodore
Commodore
to the Klingon/Cardassian War after he hit W-10 he "saw the Klingons back home".

I think you're reading way too much into that. He saw the Klingons back home.. as in their home quadrant. ;)

I don't understand. How does "saw the Klingons back home" possibly refer to the Klingon/Cardassian War? It's not like Tom Paris lived in Cardassian space.

From what I understood from this, another, brilliant episode of V'ger that Tom Paris was everywhere in the Milky Way. And since this particular episode was shown at the very same time the Klingons were at war....

That doesn't fly. By that logic we could just as easily say that Paris was making a veiled reference to Worf dating Dax or Martok fighting the Jem'Hadar in the Dominion prison.

Nah, being so far from the Federation, they see the familiar region they were all brought up in as home, along with all of the Federation surrounded by Klingons, Romulans, Tholians, Talarians, Cardassians, Ferengi, etc, as home in opposed to a region occupied with territories controlled by the Kazon, Trabe, Viidians, etc, etc.
