Interesting that a thread on The 'Burbs should start now, just days after the fire at the Universal backlot. I've been reading up on the backlot in response to that, and it turns out that The 'Burbs was filmed on the same suburban-street area (formerly called Colonial Street) that's now known as Wisteria Lane on Desperate Housewives. It was also used for Leave it to Beaver, The Munsters, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and other productions over the decades. Some of its individual houses are still referred to by the names of the families that lived in them in The 'Burbs, or at least they were pre-DH. I imagine DH is causing a lot of names to be changed, just as the town-square area that was recently half-destroyed (for the third time in its history) was renamed Mockingbird Square after To Kill a Mockingbird and Courthouse Square after Back to the Future.
