Tom Crusie In Star Trek???

DontFeedPhil

Fleet Captain
I see that there is a possibility that Tom crusie was seen on set of the New Star Trek Movie. The Buzz is that he may be a late addition to the cast...
Huh?

Well, it's as possible as Shatner being added secretly. Cruise was, at least, known to have been at the soundstage during shooting.

I hope he's not in the film. Sorry, can't stand this guy - and not only because of the Scientology stuff, but because he's a bad actor. He's constantly playing himself and has only two different facial expressions in all his movies.

I know, we're talking about a small cameo here, and I certainly wouldn't boycot the film if Cruise is in it, but I have high hopes for the new film and a Cruise-cameo would just lessen the experience significantly.

How about if Cruise is a redshirt who meets a swift but painful death? I think I'd pay to see the movie just on that alone.

Well, I recall hints of there being surprising cameos in the movie. And Cruise has visited the set. I'd say the likelihood of a brief appearance of Cruise is slightly higher than one by Shatner.

The studio Tom Cruise owns, United Artists, was one of the first to break ranks with the AMPTP and sign an interim agreement with the WGA. I don't care who thinks he's a flake, he's fine with me. :techman:

Pretty indifferent to it. It'll just be a cameo, anyway. There are more important things in life to worry about...

Put me down for: "Doesn't care either way."
My sentiments as well, for clarity. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, neither am I a Tom Cruise anti-fan. His beliefs may be quirky, but it's not his beliefs that made him millions, it's his good looks and leading man charisma - and in the context of acting in a film, that's the only aspect of him that matters.

I wouldn't mind seeing Cruise do a cameo in the film. I don't see how having a major movie star there could hurt! If anything it adds to the excitement if Hollywood enjoys the film!

Major movie star? I wouldn't go that far, but he was good in War of the Worlds.

Well, if he's not a major movie star, who is one?

Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, and Dustin Hoffman to name a few. Don't get me wrong, I like Tom Cruise, it's just that I wouldn't put him in the "major movie star" category.

Trekkies are a funny bunch. They hate a guy that is supposedly even bigger than all the Trek celebrities combined, and would bring in the general audience to see this movie. But they have to hate him just because he is a big movie star.

Cmon, he'd make a kick-ass Romulan. Or perhaps a short Klingon.

And someone should alert Garak to this news! I'm surprised he hasn't already commented.
