News Tom Baker has novelized Doctor Who Meets Scratchman

I received Scratchman at work today. Tom's "Acknowledgements" in the back of the book (page 291) was tinged with sadness. Though, as Gandalf reminds us, "Do not fear to weep, for not all tears are evil."

That depends. it's only a single line. It'll probably be a misty eye moment, depending on the person and how they feel about the early Baker era.

Can you post the relevant line? I plan to buy the book but don't have it yet. Spoiler code if you feel so inspired. Thanks!

Ah, that's sweet. I know he's always mentioned Ian fondly and seemed to enjoy working with him.

Anyone have issues getting this from Amazon? Mysteriously didn't ship and was randomly pushed back to March. Meanwhile, I happened to walk into a b&N to get a coffee and saw it on a table so I picked it up and cancelled my Amazon order.

Amazon should be getting it very soon now, since I got it from the distributor that supplies the BBC titles to Amazon.

For all my whinging about the later American release date, I only just got the book now. I'm in the middle of another book now (the last entry of my massive re-read of the Earthsea cycle) but this will be up next!

I heard the audio quite some time ago. It was a pretty good story. I really liked some parts and other parts no as much. But, overall, I'd recommend it.

Read it a few weeks back. Certainly a unique book, with Tom Baker's humour evident throughout. The start of chapter 1 alone (involving a lamb) is quite possibly one of my favourite things I've read all year.
