Today's Funky Winkerbean strip

I stopped reading when he changed art styles. I simply can't look at it now. That and, as Davros said, tragedy seems to be the main theme of the series now.

^ I don't read the strip regularly, but the art always vaguely reminds me of For Better or For Worse.

And where the hell is Wally? :scream:

According to the Wiki on it:
Wally Winkerbean, who was serving in Iraq, is not in the core cast as shown on the Funky Winkerbean website, and there is a reference in the updated cast bios (on the main page) that Becky has remarried. At this time, Wally's fate is unknown, though on his blog page Batiuk mentions that it "may not be what you think happened." Batiuk also revealed that a "clue" to Wally's fate could be found in the October 11th strip which features Les getting mugged in New York after Lisa's death after walking past a newspaper vending machine with a headline saying "Soldiers Taken Hostage".

THAT'S "Funky Winkerbean"?

Jeez, you stop reading a strip for 15 years and look what happens to it!

BWA? :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:

Wow, it's changed. I remember the days when it featured that school computer that fantasized about being in Star Trek. And a bunch of other comedic characters.

Odd that a strip would change from comedy to drama. I can't think of a case where that's happened before.

I know that Funky Winkerbean used to cross over with Crankshaft a lot. I'm guessing since the time jump, that's not happening anymore. Not unless Crankshaft made that jump too.

Okay, after reading the latest one, I am firmly convinced that Cory needs a serious beating, and quick. That little shit has gone way over the line. :mad:
