Today is Free Comic Book Day

So, especially you colonial types in the U and S of that good old thing we call A, go out and pick up some William Shatner Presents teasers.

And if you happen to be wandering around the Hollywood area, you can pop into Golden Apple on Melrose and get the mighty Shat to sign one for you as well.

That's odd. I skim through Previews every month and I don't remember seeing William Shatner Presents. I'll have to take a look for it....

So we just got back. The free books were special free-comic-book-day editions. We got a Wolverine, an Avengers, and I got Love and Capes for myself.

We got a poster and my daughter got a free sketch of Spider Girl done.

Also there were some Star Wars figures on sale 3 for $10 so my boy got those.

The staff were all in costume, I'm sorry I didn't have my camera. And I should have worn my Prof Zoom t-shirt, probably could have talked Ms Marvel into a group shot with us.

Then we went for poutine. All in all a fine day.

Bugger - I had meant to go to this (one of the comic shops was advertising Doctor Who figures for $3.50 as part of the celebration), and completely forgot about it!

I'm a bit pissed. I came in two hours after they opened and they were all out! I was looking forward to getting a few of these (especially "Blackest Night"). I feel like I should complain to the management, but I am not sure who sets the order size. The place was packed, though.
