Right I just seen to serve all my days, while i thought it was excellent. at the end Chekov died. But how can that be???

I've heard various ideas. They are pretty handy at throwing you in the old transporter and dialing up a previous pattern. Or possibly Chekov woke up and said,"Vhat a strange dream."

Never explained. Alternate timeline, off screen resolution, who knows?!
They felt he script was so good they filmed it as written, despite the continuity boo boo.

It's a "what if?" story. Walter Koenig wanted to give his character a proper goodbye, and he succeeded.

I hate to disagree, but it was maudlin and tedious, not a proper goodbye.

i was just really confused at the end, I was like hang on Chekov just died.

apparently theres a new ending in store in the remixed version due out in a few months.

They're redoing all the effects shot as well so should be good.

oh yeah, I remember reading something about that, they are gunna put like 60's commercials in it as well. should be good.
