To See or Not To See?

Do you currently intend to see the movie?

  • I don't have serious concerns about the movie, but probably won't see it.

I think it was the last project Jerry Goldsmith worked on before he died.

Actually that would be Looney Tunes: Back in Action. Though he died leaving one or two scenes unscored, so they had another composer do a few scenes.

Not the best movies to go out on, but that's not his fault, the music was still good at least.

I voted the first option. I have no major concerns about this movie. When the casting was first underway, I was hesitant about a few of the casting choices because I had not heard a lot about them (e.g. Simon Pegg and very little about Chris Pine). Maybe one or two other people. In time, those concerns went away. Overall, I get a good vibe about the group of actors that has been assembled for this movie.

The plan is to see the movie opening day. :)

I don't want to be selfish, so i hope this new film gives birth to a boat load of new star trek fans, as long as star trek lives in some form there is a chance for a better future. And maybe better movies. :bolian:

I can see your point. I guess if XI blows chunks and doesn't live up to most expectations, at least it'll spurn a new generation of fans and more sequels so long as it makes enough money and is seen by enough people.

I can see why a lot of the fans would not like this movie for one the enterprise looks like someone ate some bad mushrooms while designing her JMO. And this film could be the shape of things to come forgetting the 40 years that came before it.

Gosh, there goes ten percent of the audience right there! :rommie:

(chuckles) Given the intensity of some of the arguments I'd seen here, I really wasn't expecting the results to be so one-sided.

I find myself wondering whether any patterns would emerge if there was demographic data attached to the poll though.
