To quote Spock, "I am a fool."

Gorn Captain

Commander
Red Shirt
Am I the only person who never realized that Dr. Simon Van Gelder from Dagger of the Mind and Captain Ronald Tracey from The Omega Glory are the same person?

I didn't know either - probably because I've avoided watching The Omega Glory for many years. Maybe I should get around to it.

I only realized last year or so that Koloth was Trelane.

And Security Chief Giotto from "The Devil In The Dark" was played by Barry Russo, who also played Commodore Robert Wesley...

Yeah, Trek reuses lots of actors for more than one role. The most blatant was Mark Lenard as the Romulan Captain and Sarek, as a kid I wondered why Spock's Dad was a past bad guy.

And heck, Lenard was also the first Movie Klingon we saw in TMP as well.

Miranda Jones and Dr. Ann Mulhall are sisters, and both of them are ancestors of Dr. Kate Pulaski.

It was a long time before I realized that either actor (Barry Russo, or Morgan Woodward) were playing dual roles.

For a long time, I thought William Campbell (I almost wrote Glen Campbell) also played Col. Green.

I'm 46 - watched TOS first run on NBC (the third season); and have seen all the TOS episodes oer and over more times then I can count, own the original series DVD season boxsets (and watched them again to see the unedited versions I hadn't seen in years); and now have the First Season Blu-Ray set (and will be buying the other Blu-Ray sets once they are released)...

And basically, UNTIL I saw your post; and then ran BOTH characters through my head again, no you're NOT the only person who never realized this.:wtf:;)

Also...the guy that played Stonn in AT, Lawrence Montaigne, also played a Rommulan - Decius - on TBOT. His face was mostly covered up as a Rommie.

A lot of these actors also appeared together or apart on various other series at the time - Mission Impossible, Here Come The Brides (where Lenard had a leasing, recurring role), Gunsmoke etc. Welcome to gueest parts on TV series circa 1965-1971.

I loved Mark Lenard so much they coulda brought him back umpteen times and I'd have been happy. His Sarek was my favorite Vulcan ever...which is saying a lot because I adored Spock. (Still do.)

In addition to Shat's two stints on Twilight Zone, he was also in an Outer Limits with Nimoy. They were military officers, and Shat was in charge of...ready for this...something called "Project Vulcan"! :guffaw: Doohan also showed up in a supporting part in an OL, don't remember which one though.

Shatner and Nimoy were also both in a Man From UNCLE episode, "The Project Strigas Affair," though they share only one scene in it (a great scene, by the way, in which a villainous Nimoy helps a drunken Shatner across a crowded room).
