To people with a spider phobia

I'm kinda wierd when it comes to spiders anything smaller then a £2 coin I'm ok with but i cant get near anything bigger.
but I can handle a tarantula i sort of think of those as mice with extra legs.

I get what you mean about Tarantulas. I don't particularly like spiders, but tarantulas don't bother me in the slightest:)

I can handle tarantulas, they're not creepy at all. They actually seem very cuddly. I'm not a fan of house spiders though, at least when they get big, though that doesn't happen often in my house because I throw most of them outside or squash them before they grow big. There's something about them that I find creepy, I think it's the long legs. Tarantulas have fairly short legs and I don't mind them at all.

House spiders...I'm certainly not comfortable around them, but theyre nothing that can't be handled by a blast of air from a pellet rifle. For a cat sized spider though...yeah, I think I'll use a pellet, not just the air. Then maybe a second pellet, just to be safe...

GAH! I'm really, really sorry I looked at this thread. *faints dead away* There's NO WAY my "anxiety is going to lessen over time." God. What a way to start a Monday.

I have no spider or insect fears at all. Honestly, I hate the girls who make a big fuss about it accompanied by a big dramatic scene of screaming and carrying on to anyone who is within earshot to remove the offending bug. I leave spiders alone as they are serving an inmportant purpose and I bring bugs outside to "save" them.... I only kill skeeters, ticks and fleas. Everthing else gets to live.

But, spiders are so friendly and cuddily:

Aw, babies! :D

I can handle spiders... as long as I have a fly swatter, a can of RAID, or an industrial-strength flamethrower on hand.

I get quarter sized house spiders in my home. They dont bother me much though. Palmetto bugs(giant flying cockroaches) on the other hand, gaaah!

^I can just imagine my aunt (she loves cats) attracting a big black mass of mini-kitties with a laser pointer...:guffaw:

I'll never forget my roommate had one of those in her room in our first apartment. I had to spend all night tearing through her shit trying to find this Palmetto. I lied and said OK found it...you're all good -- bitch wanted me to produce the body...I was busted. :p She wouldn't sleep in her room for at least a week.

To everyone freaked out by the spider and her brood...I guess you all are city folk?
