'Cause it wasn't an impulse engine. The center assembly's the impulse drive.
The Drexler MSD sort of fudged it, including the outboard saucer shuttlebays, even though they're nowhere near the centerline. OTOH, since it's not technically a cross-section, that could be justified.

Here is a update. I change the colors to the Nemesis colors. I still have tons of stuff to add. I may not get back to this until sometime next week. I have to upload the v2 if Okudagrams.com this weekend and fix a problem with the forum.

WOW! That Equinox pool table display is THE most beautiful thing I've seen in a LONG time! Very nice work! Just total awesomeness!
The Akira one is looking way uber-cool... I much prefer the Nemesis color scheme for it... it really works well. Can't wait to see it finished!

I am wondering if you have a color chart or table for the LCARS colors used during TNG's 3rd and 4th seasons? I'm particularly interested in colors like those used on the Holodeck panel and Engineering pool table LCARS. If you have one, could you post it here for us, please?

Wow! Resistance (Jose) Those are amazing! I am now inspired to attempt to make the initial LCARS design for my pre-NX series ship the SS Einstein-X101 circa, 2105. After being prodded by Bill to start thinking about the look and feel of the ships computer and console interfaces, I saw yours and thought... Hmmm I know the look of the NX LCARS (didn't really do it for me) then saw you'res above and thought. Since this would be the first time a LCARS would be seen I was thinking no rounded corners and squares instead of circles . Hope you don't mind me co-opting your design. I love the stark grey it gives it more of that neo-reto trek feel. Since this is a balls-out state of the art equipt no-expense spared, proto-type ship supposedly worked on by some of the most foreward thinking designers of the time. So the ultimate logical layout of the standard LCARS configuration would show up in some fashion. I'll mosey on over to you're forum and see what the latest stuff you're up too.

ive got a question about this. its great, and i hope it gets developed a bit more, but i have to strongly disagree with it. the forementioned deflector, and the missing cargo/shuttlebay in the very bottom of the secondary hull. that defector cannot possibly be located there by any means. i can let it go with the shuttles up in the top portion, assuming that the msd is not a complete down-the-middle cross-section as its plausable that there is space for the shuttles behind those protruding larger impulse engines. and oh yes there are engines there,
