TNG Theme but the theme is coming from the Enterprise-D

LOL!

Now, the question is, suppose that intro had been affixed to exactly one of the series' episodes. Which one should it have been?

My first thought is Ship in a Bottle, the episode that ends with

TROI: In a sense, you did give Moriarty what he wanted.
PICARD: In a sense. But who knows? Our reality may be very much like theirs. All this might be just be an elaborate simulation running inside a little device sitting on someone's table. Well, we have a newborn star to study. Mister Barclay, you will keep that safe?
BARCLAY: Aye, sir.
(everyone else leaves)
BARCLAY: Computer, end programme.

But perhaps I'll think of a better ep later on.

From now on, it's my personal headcanon that all Starfleet ships fly around blasting their own theme tune from a cheap (subspace) PA system.

Mel Brooks did the "surprise digetic music" gag much better, both in High Anxiety (the orchestra bus bit) and Blazing Saddles (the Count Basie bit). Then again, he had a budget.

...in space, nobody can hear you theme...
