I was recently talking to a friend about this episode and a few questions got tossed around.
Was there ever a followup with Nikolai and the survivors they transported? Along with that, you have to wonder if the baby Nikolai and Dobora (played by Penny Johson, Cassidy Yates) had any distinctive traits being half human that put Nikolai under scrutiny.
Another question was, here we have a race that is not as developed as space faring races, living their peaceful lives, which are uprooted by their planets disaster and subsquent journey to "new land". The whole time, whenever there is a discrepency on the Holodeck that affects the illusion of their planet, Worf and Nikolai pass it off as a "Sign of LaForge".
So once settled in their new home, did these people start to think of the LaForge as a higher being? Give thanks to the LaForge for our bountiful crops etc etc....
Just some random thoughts and questions
