Why are they rehashing so many old episodes, apart from typhon pact story lines all the villans are back. They reused Moriarty, Rasmussen, The Cytherians, even v'gr. Voyager and DS9 seem to go forward!

Sequel adventures do "go forward". And the VOY and DS9 relaunch novels have featured just as many old favourite guest stars. Heck, DS9 brought back Sisko, Opaka and Odo, and Voyager even went back to the Delta Quadrant.

Can you provide a link to a publisher product page or online bookstore w/ an example book?

Rehashing? I'd rather say things don't disappear once mentioned, and can come back in one form or another. Continuity porn :) Too much creates the tiny universe syndrome, but I hardly call e.g. the Cytherians appearing twice in the whole franchise as overdoing things.

For every new planet or character introduced in a Trek novel, there'll be a fan asking, "Who are these new people I can't relate to? Whatever happened to...?"

Kobayashi Maru.
