According to this article on TrekMovie.com TNG is no longer going to air on Spike this Fall. :( :( :( :scream: :scream: :scream: :( :( :( However, it will still be airing on G4. For those of us that don't have G4 this is really sad news. Even though I have seen every episode a billion times it is always nice to know I can always catch a show on TV. I know you can always buy the Season DVD, but it is not the same!! :(

Yeah, I'm really okay with this. I've been on TNG overload since, oh, last summer. I'm pretty sure I've seen every episodes 800 times since they started airing it.

We don't get G4 on campus... But I do own all seven seasons on DVD so it doesn't matter to me.

With the DVDs of all seven seasons. Makes no difference to me. To watch a show without annoying commercials! Heaven!!!

^ But first you have to hook up the DVD player, then find the DVD, then wait for it to load... I'd rather just turn on the TV to Spike... LOL.

I haven't watched any Star Trek on TV in years because I got all the DVDs I need. I can't stand the way they cut up the episodes to make room for those annoying commercials.

I've got all of TOS, TNG, and two seasons of ENT on DVD. When the prices get a tad cheaper, I'm going to finish that out with some selected years of DS9 and VOY.

I've also only seen one episode of the remastered TOS episodes on TV. The remastered FX weren't that impressive, and they cut out over ten minutes of the show for commercials.

I'm so glad those of you with the DVDs can enjoy them.

There are others who are left out in the cold by this move, however.

Thanks for your consideration and empathy.

Sure, folks have dvds, but there's nothing like watching an episode on tv and knowing that other trekkies are out there watching with you.

You do have my sympathy on that. I wasn't gloating by the way, I was just saying I hate watching Star Trek on TV because of how much the cut it up for commercial time. But, if it's all you got, and then they take it away, that's not good. I remember back in the 70s the local UHF station that used to replay the original TOS episodes suddenly changed them to run at 9PM at night, and I was working a 2nd shift then. I was pretty pissed about that.

The TV episodes are chopped? I did not know this.
I do have "Cause and Effect" on the Time Travel set and can compare it to the most recent showing on Spike which I had set a DVR for. Also can compare "the Inner Light".
The shows seem pretty tight, I wonder where it is they find anything to cut out.

I'll survive. Because of my schedule I didn't watch very many episodes on Spike anyway.

shrugs. TNG will be back on, either on Spike or other network/channels eventually just as they do with many old shows over the years. Besides, my schedule keeps me from seeing it on spike anyway. I watch Voyager time to time.

For those without the DVD sets, that's terrible news, very sorry to hear. Before they came down in price, we had DVR-d a fair chunk of the series from SPIKE and really enjoyed it. Fortunately we now have the entire series on the DVD season sets and can watch commerial free.

Maybe you're not getting it...

The show IS on another channel...

G4.

Problem is, it's usually (if not always) a digital cable channel that a lot of us don't get.

The good news is the DVDs are mostly affordable now...

I wouldn't call $400 for the series set very affordable.

CostCo, Amazon, and some other retailers sell each season for under $50 each. Compared to five years ago when the series was first released, that's awesome. Further, who the hell says you have to buy the whole thing at once?
